- 1 cup rice (black sticky rice)
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 ½ cups unsweetened coconut milk
- ½ tsp salt
- 3 cups water

Unfortunately, you can only find black sticky rice in Asian stores or online. Bring the rice to a boil with the water and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Then reduce the heat to low and simmer the rice, covered, for 45 minutes. Now add the sugar, another 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1 1/2 cups of coconut milk, and bring back to a boil. Simmer uncovered over low heat for another 30 minutes. Stir occasionally during the entire preparation time to prevent burning. Ladle the cooked rice into small bowls, drizzle with the remaining coconut milk, and enjoy. A delicious little dessert that not everyone knows about.
