If The Pasta is Undercooked: a Sumptuous Dinner of Raw Spaghetti

If you’ve finished boiling the pasta and have already drained the water, but the spaghetti tastes raw, don’t feel bad. Even slightly undercooked pasta can be eaten – the Italians call such pasta “al dente. But if you want to cook such pasta to perfection – we’ll tell you how to make it delicious.

How long to cook pasta of different types

The cooking time for pasta depends on its shape.

  • Long spaghetti cooks for 10-12 minutes.
  • Whole-grain pasta – 7-10 minutes.
  • Egg noodles – 9-10 minutes.
  • Bow-tie pasta – 11 minutes.
  • Shells – 8 minutes.
  • Small soup pasta – 5 minutes.

If the pasta is not cooked at this time – do not boil them again in a pot of water. This could cause them to overcook. Instead, use our tips.

Make pasta for dinner out of uncooked pasta in a frying pan

Heat a little sunflower oil in a frying pan and pour the pasta in. Lightly fry the pasta and pour water into the pan. Bring to a boil and simmer pasta in water for 5 minutes. Then pour the water and, if desired, fill the pasta with sauce or a sprinkling of cheese. This way you can make delicious Italian pasta.

How to cook uncooked pasta in the oven

Grease a baking dish with sunflower oil. Place the semi-cooked pasta in the mold and pour a little water over it. Cook the pasta in the oven at 180°. Check every few minutes to make sure it is cooked – the spaghetti will cook quite quickly.
