Preparation of the soil is an important stage for the cultivation of beets. Experienced gardeners recommend planting the culture on peatlands with lime, sandy loam soils, and chernozem. Sandy and heavy soils are not suitable categorically.

As for the neighborhood with other vegetables, beets can be planted where cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, or legumes used to grow. After carrots or cabbage, you can not grow beets, in addition, refrain from planting the vegetable in the same place several years in a row.

Before planting, loosen the soil, remove any weeds, and apply fertilizer. Choose a sunny area for beets – the culture does not like shade. Plant the beets in rows, and after the emergence of sprouts, thin the soil. To do this, make a furrow and water it. After the moisture is absorbed, you can sow.
