One hundred grams of fat contains 800-1000 kcal, depending on the product. By way of comparison, 100 grams of cake has an average of 300-350 kcal, depending on its composition. It turns out that fat is three times more caloric than cake. So why do nutritionists say that fat does not make you fat?
The fact is that, in contrast to sweets, which are rich in carbohydrates, lard consists of 90 percent natural fats. That is why in moderate quantities it is not harmful to your figure. In addition, given the high caloric content of the product, you physically will not be able to eat a lot of it.

If we talk about whether you can eat lard every day, then yes, you can. Despite the high caloric content, this product can safely be consumed every day, however, in very limited quantities. The average daily norm for a person who is not engaged in sports is 30-40 grams, and for an athlete – 50-70 grams. In fact, it is 2-3 sandwiches a day, no more.
Why must there be lard in the diet – why is it useful?
If we talk about why lard is useful, you need to look at the chemical composition of the product.

Doctors recommend using lard for the prevention of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. It is well suited for people with problems in the cardiovascular system. Also, bacon will help to adjust the metabolism and normalize the work of the brain.
In addition, lard perfectly cleanses blood vessels from cholesterol plaques and significantly reduces the risk of thrombosis.
The benefits of lard for joints have also been known for a long time. In acute pain in the knees, it is recommended to apply a mixture of melted lard with the addition of a tablespoon of salt to the inflamed joint. The compress should be left on overnight. The salt will draw excess fluid out of the joint, and the lard will reduce inflammation.
That is why nutritionists are convinced that lard must be in the diet of the elderly. The only condition is that the fat must be fresh. Neither salted nor frozen lard can be used for medicinal purposes. It is a tasty caloric product, but after salting or freezing it has no therapeutic properties.

Doctors do not recommend eating lard for people with kidney disease. Also, it is better to forget about this food for those who have serious problems with the liver. For people with acute pancreatitis or cholecystitis, bacon is a prohibited product.

If you want to improve the appearance of your skin or to improve your health, you should use only fresh fat. Such bacon should not be salted or put in the freezer because its nutritional value will be reduced significantly.
If we talk about whether boiled bacon is useful or not, then it depends on what purposes you wish to use it for. If it is just to satisfy hunger, then this is a delicious product that will satiate you quickly. If it is used for medicinal purposes, then there is no benefit in boiled bacon and your body will not receive anything but extra calories.
