Blood Orange Sorbet

The perfect blood orange sorbet recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 piece Blood oranges or 300ml of juice
  • 1 piece Fresh lime
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Orange liqueur from my KB

  • 200 ml Water
  1. Squeeze the oranges or measure 300 ml of a good orange juice
  2. Rub 1 teaspoon of the zest from the lime
  3. Sugar. Bring the water and lime zest to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes in a syrupy manner. Allow to cool slightly.
  4. Sieve off the sugar water solution and stir in the orange juice with the liqueur
  5. Let cool in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes – then in the ice machine or for about 5 hours in the freezer and whisk briefly every 30 minutes (because of the water crystals)
