Blueberry dumplings

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g blueberries
  • 100 g poppy seeds, ground
  • 250 g quark (20% fat)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 150 g flour, smooth
  • 60 g butter, soft
  • 1 lemon(s), grated peel
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Place the quark in a cloth and squeeze it lightly. Cream the butter with grated lemon zest and a pinch of salt until fluffy. Stir in the egg, quark, and flour. Knead the dough well, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, wash and drain the blueberries. Shape the dough into a log and cut into equal slices. Flatten the slices and top with a few berries. Now pull the dough over the log and form each slice into a dumpling. Place the dumplings in lightly salted boiling water. Reduce the heat and let the dumplings simmer for about 10 minutes. Drain the dumplings well. Finally, sprinkle with poppy seeds and powdered sugar and serve.
