Bolognese Grandma's Style

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 tbsp clarified butter
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 carrots
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 can of tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 pack of tomatoes, pureed (tetra pack)
  • 1 cup water
  • 100 ml cream
  • some salt and pepper
  • e.g. oregano, basil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

classic with spaghetti

Wash the carrots and slice them thinly. Roast the clarified butter and tomato paste together in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the carrots and sauté for about 10 minutes. Then add the minced meat, stirring to break it up and sauté until it’s no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Add the can of diced tomatoes, a cup of water, and the carton of passata, and bring everything to a boil. Season with salt and pepper. If you like, you can add oregano, basil, and other spices. Finally, add a splash of cream (about 100 ml), reduce briefly, and you’re done! Serve with spaghetti, of course, or mashed potatoes, which are also delicious!
