Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 m.-sized onion(s)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 250 g carrot(s)
- 200 g cherry tomatoes
- 350 g minced meat, mixed
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 500 g tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tbsp oregano, dried
- ½ tbsp thyme, dried
- salt and pepper
- 300 g pasta (macaroni)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour, slightly heaped
- 250 g vegetable stock
- 200 ml milk
- 100 g processed cheese
- 50 g Parmesan, grated
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Peel, wash, and dice the onions, garlic, and carrots. Wash and halve the tomatoes. Fry the minced meat in hot oil until crumbly. Briefly fry the onions, garlic, and carrots. Add the tomato paste and sauté. Stir in the passata, tomatoes, and herbs, season to taste, and then simmer for about 10 minutes. Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling salted water for about 8 minutes. Drain. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter, dust with flour, and sauté. Deglaze with the stock and milk and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously, then stir in the cheese and simmer for another 2 minutes. Grease a baking dish, layer the pasta and minced meat sauce, and spread the cheese sauce on top. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake in a hot oven (electric stove: 200°C / fan: 175°C / gas mark 3) for about 30 minutes. Garnish with oregano and thyme.
