Homemade Mettwurst from a glass jar
Crack the eggs and whisk. Set aside flour and breadcrumbs in separate bowls/plates. Loosen the sausage from the rim of the jar with a knife, turn it out, and cut into 8–10 mm thick, round slices. Coat the slices in flour, tap lightly, then dip them in the beaten egg, and finally coat them all over in breadcrumbs. Fry the breaded sausage slices in clarified butter (oil or fat) over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. Drain the fat on a piece of kitchen paper and serve immediately. Delicious with mashed potatoes and fried onions, rice and gypsy sauce, chips, and curry sauce.
