Bratwurst with apples, onions and mashed potatoes

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 sachet of mashed potato powder
  • some nutmeg, freshly grated
  • some salt and pepper
  • 4 sausages
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
  • some parsley
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Peel the onions and slice them into half rings. Wash the apples and slice them thinly. Fry the onions and apples in a pan with a little butter until both are cooked through and beginning to brown. Season with salt and pepper and keep warm. Fry the sausages in a pan with the vegetable oil until browned. Prepare the mashed potatoes according to the package instructions and season with butter, pepper, salt, and nutmeg. Serve the mashed potatoes on plates, spoon the onions and apples over the mashed potatoes, and serve with the sausages and a little mustard. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately while hot.
