Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 egg whites
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 120 g chocolate shavings
  • 120 g almond(s), grated
  • 80 g candied lemon

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Meringue with almonds and chocolate shavings, makes about 50 pieces

Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and then add the powdered sugar to a meringue. Fold in the chocolate shavings and ground almonds. Place small mounds on baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 13-15 minutes. Makes about 50 Brazilians. My mom adds 80g of candied lemon peel to the mixture, but I like it better without! I replace the 80g with half chocolate shavings and half with almonds.
