- 8 dl Milk
- 2 Msp Baking powder
- 2 Msp Lemon zest
- 1 Pc. Vanilla pod

- the recipe is for a 28cm springform pan
- Soak raisins in calvados overnight
- Cut the black bread into cubes. Bring the milk with the sliced vanilla pod and the scraped-out pulp and 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder to the boil. Remove from heat, remove the vanilla pod and pour over the bread cubes. Let it steep for a couple of hours.
- In the meantime, peel the apples, remove the core and cut into nice little pieces. Sprinkle a little calvados or lemon juice on top.
- Now mash the bread into a dough, mix with the eggs and the baking powder and alternately fill the prepared springform with bread, apples, cinnamon with sugar, raisins and, if you like, a little lemon zest. The last layer should be a layer of bread.
- Now put the cake or the casserole, depending on what you want, into the oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for about 1 hour.
- If you want this as a casserole then serve hot with vanilla cream.
- As a cake, cool / let stand overnight in the springform pan so that it unites. Serve the cake with vanilla ice cream / sauce or cinnamon sugar depending on your taste.
