Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g bread roll(s), 5 stale, diced
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion(s), chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Whisk together the milk, egg, and spices, pour over the bread cubes, mix, and let stand for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, finely chop the onion and sauté in butter until translucent. Let it cool slightly and pour over the bread mixture. Stir in the parsley. Mix everything well. With wet hands, form 8 dumplings, pressing firmly and smoothing the outside to prevent them from falling apart. Place the steamer basket and water in a tightly fitting pot, then place the dumplings on top. Steam for about 30 minutes.
