Breakfast: Apple Waffles
The perfect breakfast: apple waffles recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 3 Pc. Eggs
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 tbsp Melted coconut oil
- 360 g Unsweetened applesauce or apple puree with apricot from the glass
- 40 g Maple syrup
- 50 g Buckwheat flour
- 50 g Ground almonds
- 150 g Spelled flour type 630 or wholemeal spelled flour
- 1 tsp Tartar baking powder
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 0,5 tsp Vanilla powder
- 1 Msp Ground cardamom, to taste
- 2 tsp Chai kiss spice from Sonnentor, as desired
- 1 shot Carbonated mineral water, alternatively milk
- 1 Handful Raisins
- Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff. Mix the egg yolks with the maple syrup, coconut oil and applesauce.
- Mix the flour, buckwheat flour, ground almonds and baking powder, stir in the spices and mix with the liquid ingredients. Stir in mineral water or milk and finally carefully fold in the raisins and egg whites.
- Bake waffles in a heated waffle iron (depending on the instructions for use) at a medium temperature. It will be about 5 – 6 pieces (for the shape I have chosen, see picture).
- Depending on your preference, you can also stir a grated apple into the waffle batter. The waffles taste warm and cold. However, when cooled down, you can taste the apple flavor more. If you freeze the waffles, you can easily bake them in the toaster.
