Broad beans from the pressure cooker

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g beans (Gigantos), dried
  • 2 tbsp, sautéed soup vegetables
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 12 hours 20 minutes

Gigantos

Soak the beans in plenty of water overnight. Place the beans in a pressure cooker with the soup vegetables and bay leaves. Pour water over the beans, leveling by 2 cm. Close the lid and bring to a boil. Cook at full pressure for about 8 minutes. Then quickly release the steam. Drain and process further or freeze. It tastes better than canned beans and is quick to cook.
