Broccoli and carrot side dish

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 broccoli, approx. 500 g
  • 1 carrot(s) or 2 carrots as desired
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • n. B. Nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 7 minutes; Total time approx. 17 minutes

Simple side dish, e.g., to fish

Divide the broccoli into florets, peel the stalk, and cut into small pieces. Wash everything. Peel the carrot and slice it thinly. For thicker carrots, halve it lengthwise and then slice it. Bring 1.5 liters of water to a boil in a pot and add a teaspoon of salt. First, cook the carrots for 1-2 minutes, then add the broccoli and cook for about another 5 minutes (depending on how firm you want it to be). Drain the water and season the vegetables with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste. If you like, you can add a little butter to the pot with the vegetables after draining and let it melt briefly. A quick and easy side dish for fish or other pan-fried dishes.
