Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g margarine
  • 200 g sugar
  • 450 g syrup, darker, possibly less
  • 4 eggs
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 bag of gingerbread spice
  • 250 g powdered sugar
  • some milk
  • possibly cocoa powder or rose water and colorful sugar sprinkles

Sheet cakes – popular with children

Combine margarine, sugar, and syrup and heat until dissolved, stirring occasionally. Let cool slightly. Gradually stir in the eggs, flour, baking powder, and gingerbread spice. Spread the batter onto a greased baking sheet and bake at 175°C for 25-30 minutes. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with a little milk and brush over the cake. Tip: You can add cocoa powder or a little rose water to the glaze. Children love it when the cake is sprinkled with colorful sugar sprinkles.
