  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 large garlic cloves
  • 1 bunch of basil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Quarter the tomatoes and remove the cores, then cut the flesh into very small cubes. Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic cloves. Place everything in a bowl and mix with salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar, chili flakes, and the grated lemon zest. Finally, add the oil. Now cut the bread open and rub it with garlic. Grill in the oven at 200°C for 5 minutes with top heat. Then fold the finely chopped basil into the tomato mixture. Spread the mixture over the bread. Arrange on a platter and serve. Tastes truly delicious, just like in Italy. Enjoy!
