Brussels sprouts with potato topping

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g potatoes, boiled
  • 200 ml milk, low-fat
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tbsp chives, cut into rings
  • 1 kg Brussels sprouts (alternatively 800 g frozen)
  • 3 onions
  • 4 slice(s) ham, cooked, thinly sliced
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Mash the cooked potatoes. Mix with milk and season with salt and pepper. Add the chives and mix. Trim and halve the Brussels sprouts, then cook in boiling water for about 10 minutes. Peel the onions and dice them with the ham. Fry in a non-stick pan without fat. Add the Brussels sprouts and season with salt and cayenne pepper. Transfer the Brussels sprout mixture to a baking dish. Spread the potato mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with paprika. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes. Serve immediately.
