Bulgur patties

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 120 g bulgur
  • ½ liter vegetable stock
  • some salt and pepper
  • 2 pinches of caraway powder
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 20 g wholemeal breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying
  • ⅛ liter sour cream
  • 4 tbsp chives, finely chopped
  • some salt and pepper
  • n. B. Cocktail tomatoes for garnishing
  • n. B. Fresh herbs for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel and finely chop the onion and fry it with the garlic in hot olive oil until translucent. Add the bulgur and pour in the vegetable stock. Season with salt, pepper, and caraway powder. Cook uncovered over medium heat for about 12 minutes, until the bulgur has absorbed all the liquid. Then mix the bulgur with the beaten egg, parsley, and whole-wheat breadcrumbs. Form the mixture into 6 patties and fry in hot oil over medium heat for about 2.5 minutes on each side. For the chive cream, mix the sour cream with the chives. Season with salt and pepper if desired. Arrange the bulgur patties on plates with the chive cream and serve garnished with cocktail tomatoes and fresh herbs.
