Bull Eyes

The perfect bull eyes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 330 g Soft butter
  • 210 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 5 Egg yolk
  • 0,25 tsp Salt
  • 540 g Flour, or as needed
  • 2 Egg white whisked with a few drops of water
  • Chopped almonds to roll
  • Red jam to taste
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (convection 160 degrees) and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  1. Mix the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until frothy. Now gradually stir in the egg yolks.
  1. Now work in flour by hand until the dough is nice and soft and no longer sticks.
  1. Shape the dough into small balls, dip in the egg white and then roll them in the chopped almonds. Place on the tray and make a depression with your finger.
  1. Now heat the jam and distribute it in the indentations, but not too full, because then it could run.
  1. Now bake in the oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
