Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 can kidney beans, approx. 400 g
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 4 slice(s) of cheddar cheese, approx. 100 g
  • 75 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg(s)
  • some salt
  • Clarified butter for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Place the beans in a sieve and rinse with cold water. Drain and then place in a bowl. Peel the onion and finely dice. To make the patties, mash the beans finely with a potato masher or fork. Then add the remaining ingredients and mix by hand until smooth. Set aside. Form the bean mixture into 4 equal-sized patties. These should be the size of burger buns. Heat the clarified butter in a pan and fry the patties over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. They should be golden brown. Just before they’re done, add the cheese and let it melt slightly.
