Combine butter, powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt in a food processor or hand mixer. If you like a vanilla flavor, add the seeds of a vanilla bean. It spreads easily and tastes wonderfully creamy. The buttercream will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for at least 2 weeks.
