Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g margarine
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • possibly grease for the tray
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy. Mix the baking soda with the flour. Add the remaining ingredients alternately, a cup at a time, sifting the flour as you go. Beat well with a whisk until creamy. Pour the batter onto a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 20-30 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar after baking.
