Buttermilk soup

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 package of rusks
  • 1 ½ liters buttermilk
  • some sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Something delicious and cold for hot days – low in calories, loved by children

Pour the buttermilk into a suitable bowl and sweeten with sugar if desired (it shouldn’t taste bitter, but also not cloyingly sweet). Then take two rusks at a time and rub them together over the bowl until they almost crumble. Crush the rest vigorously with your fingers and add them in small pieces. Stir everything together and enjoy immediately, as the rusks will absorb all the buttermilk over time, making everything mushy. Nonetheless, it’s fantastic for hot days and a favorite with children!
