Buying a used Thermomix: You should pay attention to this
If you want to buy a used Thermomix, your first port of call is probably the internet. So that you get a functional device, you should pay attention to a few things.
- A Thermomix is an expensive purchase either way. Before you think about buying one, make sure you need one.
- You pay a four-digit sum to the official dealer for a new Thermomix device. That’s why you have to be careful with shops that offer new or like-new devices for 700 euros and can be delivered within a few days. If, in addition, the only payment option is prepayment, it is very likely a scam.
- There are several different models of the Thermomix. With each model, the device improves. However, this also increases the price. So be aware of the types of models and their performance. The oldest is the VKM5 from 1961, the latest model is called the TM6.
- In contrast to Vorwerk vacuum cleaners, there are unfortunately no shops that specialize in used Thermomix devices. Restored devices with warranty can therefore not be purchased online.
- Your only way to buy a Thermomix cheaper is currently private sales sites and file-sharing platforms such as eBay, Kaleido, and dhd24. However, no one can guarantee that the devices will work as described.
