Camembert in a loaf of bread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 small brown bread, just a little bigger than the Camembert
  • 60 g butter, melted
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 Camembert(s)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

With homemade garlic butter

Preheat the oven to 180°C fan/convection oven. Use a steak knife to cut off the top of the bread all the way around to create a lid about 1 cm thick. Cut a slit around the bread about 2 cm from the edge, making sure the tip of the knife does not pierce the base. Then use a spoon to scoop out the inside of the bread. Press the garlic clove into the melted butter and use a spoon to spread it evenly between the bread and the lid. Cut the top of the Camembert all the way around to create a lid. Place the Camembert in the loaf of bread. If you like, place the cut-off lid under the Camembert in the bread. Season the lid with salt and pepper. Close the bread and bake for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the inside of the bread into strips. After 15 minutes of cooking, arrange the bread strips on the baking tray and cook in the oven for 5 minutes. Enjoy while warm. Use the bread strips to dip the melted cheese.
