Can Sweet Potatoes Be Reheated?

Can I reheat and eat prepared sweet potatoes?

If you observe a few basic rules of kitchen hygiene, there is nothing wrong with reheating sweet potatoes and other foods. Here are a few general tips:

  • Cooked leftovers should cool down quickly and then be kept covered in the refrigerator or frozen. Germs from the air can hardly penetrate.
  • As a general rule, leftover food should not be left uncooled for hours or kept warm at lower temperatures. If a dish is to be served later or the next day, it should be chilled and then completely reheated.
  • In order to be served again, the dish should not only be warmed up, it should really be heated up properly. To do this, heat the food to at least 70 degrees and keep it at the high temperature for several minutes. This reliably kills off any germs and bacteria.
