Caprese Burger

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 beefsteak tomatoes
  • 2 toasties
  • 1 pack of mozzarella
  • 4 sprigs of basil
  • 2 sprigs of oregano
  • ½ jar pesto, green
  • Balsamic vinegar, dark
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Wash the basil, spin dry, and roughly chop. Wash the oregano, spin dry, and roughly chop. Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems, and slice. Drain the mozzarella and slice it too. Toast the buns, spread a little pesto on the bottom, then place a tomato slice on top, season with salt and pepper, and drizzle with a little balsamic vinegar. Top with another layer of mozzarella, spread some pesto on top, and sprinkle with basil and oregano. Make a second layer of tomato and mozzarella, then top with the bun lid. Plate the Caprese burgers and serve immediately.
