Drink for the cold season
To make the caramel sauce, first combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and simmer over low heat without stirring (you may need to swirl the pan gently) until the water has completely evaporated and the color has reached an amber-like brown. This will take some time, so be patient! Meanwhile, stir the vanilla extract into the cream. Once the melted sugar has reached the right color, remove the pan from the heat and carefully add the vanilla-cream mixture, stirring constantly. If it starts to clump, return everything to the heat and stir. Let everything cool down and then pour the caramel sauce into a small bottle. Spread the caramel sauce on the sides and bottom of one cup as desired. Froth the milk and pour it into the cup along with the cocoa powder. Add a little whipped cream and a little more caramel sauce for topping. This also tastes great with coffee and milk foam!
