Recipe for caramelized sunflower seeds in heart shape

Spread a sheet of baking paper on the work surface and have a rolling pin ready. First, roast the sunflower seeds until they have taken on some color. Set aside. Clean the pan of any remaining seeds and sprinkle in the sugar. Once it has dissolved, add the sunflower seeds to the pan and stir well. Add the butter and mix everything briefly. Then pour the mixture onto the bottom part of the baking paper and cover with the top part of the paper. Now roll out thinly with a rolling pin to form a sheet of sunflower seed caramel. Let it cool slightly and then cut out using cookie cutters of your choice. Be careful with plastic cutters; the mixture shouldn’t be too hot. The leftovers can be wonderfully made into brittle. To do this, put everything in a bowl, cover with a lid, and shake vigorously to separate the individual seeds. Delicious for nibbling and snacking. Also great in quark and yogurt, as a decoration for cakes and tarts, or on ice cream.
