Caramelize hazelnuts – it’s that easy
Caramelized hazelnuts taste delicious as a snack between meals, but they also go well as an accompaniment to hearty dishes such as saddle of venison. For the recipe, you need the following ingredients: 200 grams of hazelnuts and 200 grams of sugar, a packet of vanilla sugar, and 125 milliliters of water.
- Put the sugar, water, and vanilla sugar in a pan. Let the whole thing come to a boil.
- Then add the hazelnuts.
- Now you have to wait until the sugar caramelizes and the hazelnuts shine.
- Be sure to stir continuously. Otherwise, the mass will burn quickly.
- When the water has evaporated, the hazelnuts crumble a bit. Then just keep stirring until the nuts are shiny again.
- Finally, place the caramelized hazelnuts on a baking tray lined with baking paper and allow them to cool.
- If you like, you can also sprinkle cinnamon on top – you just decide according to your taste.
