Spread the love

  • 1 bag of Brussels sprouts, approx. 500 g
  • 65 g butter
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Nutmeg powder, if you like

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

simple

Clean the Brussels sprouts, trim the stems, and halve them. Melt the butter in a sufficiently large pan or casserole dish, season with salt, and lightly brown. Sprinkle the sugar evenly and wait until it begins to caramelize. Place the sprouts cut-side down in the pan and cook over high heat, allowing the caramelized sugar and salted butter to soak between the sprout leaves. Once the sprouts are browned, reduce the heat and cover. Cook until the sprouts are tender to your desired degree (4-7 minutes). This can easily be tested with a skewer.
