Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g plums
- 50 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 25 g butter
- half lemon(s)
- 0.1 liter apple juice or orange juice
- 80 ml plum brandy
- 1 pinch of cinnamon
- powdered sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Perfect accompaniment to Kaiserschmarrn, sweet dumplings, pastries, etc.
Wash, halve, and pit the plums. Melt the sugar and vanilla sugar with the butter in a pan, stirring constantly, until the sugar caramelizes slightly. Add the plums and let them glaze for about 5 minutes. Deglaze with the apple juice and bring the contents of the pan back to a boil. Add the fruit brandy and let the compote cool. Season with lemon juice and cinnamon. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
