Caramelized tofu with apple and cinnamon

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g tofu, natural
  • 2 apples
  • 50 ml apple juice
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 dashes lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tbsp cinnamon
  • 10 g margarine, e.g. Alsan

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Pat the tofu dry with a paper towel and cut into small cubes. Heat the margarine in a pan, add the tofu cubes, and fry until golden brown on all sides. Sprinkle with the sugar and let it caramelize slightly. Cut the apples into pieces and add them to the pan with the caramelized tofu, frying briefly. Pour in the maple syrup and let it simmer briefly. Deglaze everything with apple and lemon juice. Serve the dessert on its own or with whipped cream.
