Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 420 g sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 240 g walnuts, chopped
  • 420 g flour
  • 2 tbsp rum
  • 1 pack of candied lemon peel
  • 6 bars of chocolate (cooking chocolate)
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Beat eggs and sugar until frothy. Add flour and nuts, then stir in the rum and candied lemon peel. Grate the chocolate and fold in. Grease a baking sheet with butter, spread the mixture, and bake in the oven at 190°C for about 20-30 minutes. Traditionally, this sweet treat is stored in a plastic container for a week, where it hardens nicely. In Carinthia, it’s eaten with tea or punch at Christmas.
