Carrot Stew with Smoked Pork

The perfect carrot stew with smoked pork recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 400 g Kasseler
  • 50 g Bacon
  • 1 l Meatsoup
  • 4 Onions
  • 600 g Carrots
  • 1 Kohlrabi
  • 500 g Potatoes
  • 2 tbsp Clarified butter
  • 1 tsp Curry
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp Chilli from the mill
  • 1 tsp Maple syrup
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • Sugar
  1. Pat the meat dry, dice bite-sized and simmer in the meat broth with the finely chopped bacon for about 50 minutes.
  2. Peel the onions and dice finely. Press the garlic through the press. Peel the carrots and kohlrabi and cut into cubes. Heat the clarified butter in a saucepan and sauté the onions and garlic until translucent. Add the carrot cubes and sauté briefly. Add the carrots and kohlrabi to the meat and simmer for another 25 minutes.
  3. Peel, wash and dice the potatoes. Add to the stew and cook for another 20 minutes. Season the stew with curry, salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar, chili and maple syrup. Garnish with a little parsley to serve. Farm bread tastes good with it.
