Casserole: Herb Potato Pancakes Baked with Cheese

The perfect casserole: herb potato pancakes baked with cheese recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 piece Potatoes
  • 1 piece Fresh onion
  • 1 tablespoon Clarified butter
  • 0,5 teaspoon Black pepper from the mill
  • 0,5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 handful Fresh Käruter – here: ground elder, Maggi cabbage, chervil, parsley, chives
  • 100 ml Cream 10% fat
  • 30 g Swiss Emmental
  1. Peel the potatoes and grate them medium-fine. Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and brown the onion cubes lightly. Add the grated potatoes, distribute them evenly in the pan and let them set gently. Turn around.
  3. After the potatoes are browned on all sides, season with salt and pepper.
  4. Sort the herbs and chop finely. Grate the cheese.
  5. Now add the cream to the potatoes and let them boil down. Stir in the herbs.
  6. Pour this mixture into a baking dish – no longer grease necessary – and sprinkle with the grated cheese.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees lower / upper heat until the cheese has melted and begins to color.
  8. Serve on preheated plates with the desired side dish. I served it with spinach.
