Cauliflower casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 large cauliflower
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 250 g cooked ham
  • 100 g cream (cooking cream), light
  • 75 g Emmental cheese, grated
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • Fat, for the shape

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Divide the prepared cauliflower into florets and cook in salted water for 10 minutes. Heat the butter, fry the diced onion, add the diced ham, and fry briefly. Drain the cauliflower florets, toss with the onion and ham mixture, and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish. Mix the cream with the egg and cheese, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and pour over the casserole. Sprinkle the casserole with breadcrumbs and bake in the oven (middle rack) at 200°C for about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
