Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 large cauliflower
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 onion(s)
- 2 tbsp oil
- 300 g minced meat
- 30 g butter
- 30 g flour
- 250 ml water from cooking cauliflower
- 200 g cream or milk
- 2 corners of herb melted cheese
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes
Clean the cauliflower, divide it into florets, and cook in salted water with 2 tablespoons of milk for about 15 minutes. Drain, reserving the liquid. Peel and finely dice the onion. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the minced meat and fry until crumbly. Season with salt and pepper. Heat the butter and sauté the flour. Stir in the cauliflower liquid. Stir in the cream and fold in the cheese. Bring to a boil and simmer for another 4 minutes. Transfer the minced meat to a greased, ovenproof dish. Distribute the cauliflower florets evenly and pour the cheese sauce over the meat. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for 20 minutes. Variations: Instead of cauliflower, kohlrabi, broccoli, or leeks can also be used.
