Chard roulades

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 leaves of chard, large (approx. 250 g)
  • 4 slice(s) ham, thin
  • 4 slice(s) cheese, young Gouda, thin
  • 30 g butter
  • 250 g tomato puree
  • ⅛ liter meat broth
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 bunch chives, in rolls

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Wash the chard leaves, remove the stems, and stack two leaves on top of each other. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each. Carefully roll up and secure with toothpicks. Melt butter in a saucepan and briefly sauté the roulades over low heat. Mix the tomato puree and broth, add the mixture, and cover. Cook for about 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Serve the sauce with the roulades and garnish with chives.
