Cheese and chive rolls

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 250 g flour, any type
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.3 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 100 g herb cream cheese
  • 3 tbsp chives, freshly chopped
  • 100 ml milk
  • 60 g cheese (Gouda), grated
  • some milk, for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

quick preparation

Combine flour, baking powder, pepper, mustard powder, and salt in a bowl. Add cream cheese and knead everything into a smooth dough. Stir in chives. Make a well in the center of the dough, pour in a little milk, and stir in. Gradually add the remaining milk, stirring constantly, until a smooth dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface and roll it out (about 2 cm thick). Form small rolls and place them on a baking sheet. Brush the finished rolls with a little milk and sprinkle with Gouda cheese. Bake at 200°C for 15-20 minutes, until risen and golden brown.
