- 2 garlic cloves, very finely chopped

- 100 g breakfast bacon, cut into fine cubes
- 130 g cooked ham, cut into fine cubes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 100 g cheese (Gruyère) cut into small cubes
- 1 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp chives, very finely chopped
- 5 eggs
- 5 dl milk
- salt and pepper
- nutmeg
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. In a non-stick frying pan, fry the bacon cubes in their own fat until crispy. Drain off all but a tablespoon of the cooking fat, add the ham and shallot and fry lightly. Add the butter and let it foam, then add the bread cubes to the pan and fry until crispy, turning occasionally. Finally, briefly fry the garlic. Spread everything in a gratin dish and sprinkle with the cheese. Whisk the eggs with milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and herbs and pour over the ingredients in the gratin dish. Bake the casserole in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius on the second rack from the bottom for 30 to 35 minutes. A leaf salad goes very well with it.
