  • 400 g cheese (Gruyère or other strong cheese)
  • white wine, dry
  • 4 eggs
  • pepper
  • butter

Cheese slices from Switzerland

Lightly brown the 1-1.5 cm thick slices of bread in a pan with butter. Place the slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with a little wine. If you have ovenproof dishes, you can also place the slices directly on plates. Place the ham slices on the bread; they should cover the bread well. Cover generously with the thinly sliced ​​cheese and bake in the oven at about 180°C until the cheese melts. Fry the eggs in a pan and sprinkle with pepper, then serve on the croute. Serve with salad. I sometimes skip the ham and add more cheese.
