Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 300 g pasta (short macaroni)
- 1 small onion(s)
- 5 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 400 ml milk
- salt and pepper
- nutmeg
- 200 g cheese, grated
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Cook the macaroni in salted water until al dente. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Finely dice the onion and fry in the butter until translucent. Add the flour and gradually add the milk, stirring constantly. Season with pepper, salt, and a little nutmeg, and simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes. Drain the pasta. Add half of the grated cheese to the sauce and stir until melted. Mix the pasta with the cheese sauce and transfer everything to a baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and dot with a few knobs of butter. Place in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes.
