Cheese: Obatzter – Cooked
The perfect cheese: obatzter – cooked recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 100 g Butter
- 175 g Soft cheese, here alpine cheese
- 100 g Romadur
- 125 g Harzer cheese
- 200 g Cream cheese
- 1 a cup Sour cream
- 1 piece Fresh and big onion
- 2 Knife point Sweet paprika
- 2 Knife point Black pepper from the mill
- 2 Knife point A bit of sAlt
- Peel the onion and cut it into tiny cubes.
- Heat the butter in a larger saucepan and sweat the onion cubes in it.
- Romadur – with or without rind – cut Harz cheese and soft cheese into small pieces. Together with the processed cheese to the onions against and let everything melt while stirring constantly at reduced heat.
- Season with paprika and pepper. Be careful with salt, because it depends on the cheese you use, whether you still need salt.
- Finally, stir in the sour cream and pour the mixture into a bowl to cool. Cover and store in the refrigerator.
- With a slice of fresh bread and a few onion rings, this is a hearty snack.
