Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 150 g cheese (Gouda, medium-aged), grated
  • 200 g flour
  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 500 ml milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • some butter, for frying
  • 2 tbsp chives (rolls)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Combine the cheese and flour in a bowl and mix. Whisk the egg yolks and milk together, add to the flour mixture, and mix. Beat the egg whites with salt until stiff peaks form, then fold into the batter. Heat butter in a pan, add 1/4 of the batter, and cook on both sides over low heat. Tear the batter into pieces with two forks and keep warm in the oven. Repeat with the remaining batter. Sprinkle with chives before serving. Serve with a mixed salad.
