Cheese spirals made from puff pastry

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 450 g puff pastry
  • 100 g salami, sliced
  • 50 g ham, cooked
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 400 g cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan, grated
  • 3 bell peppers, red, yellow and green
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 30 minutes

Thaw the puff pastry and stack it together to form a large sheet. Press the ends together. It should be a roll. Finely dice the bell peppers and sauté them in the butter, then let it cool. Dice the salami and ham and mix with the cream cheese, egg yolk, Parmesan cheese, and the diced bell peppers. Season with salt and pepper. Spread everything on the pastry sheet and spread it out. Roll up the pastry sheet and wrap it in foil. Chill. You can also put the roll in the freezer for a short time. Then cut into pieces about 1 cm thick and bake on a baking sheet until crispy. 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) with fan/convection oven. Since every oven bakes differently, just check it every now and then to see if it’s ready. About 20 minutes is enough for me. It’s perfect for preparing ahead of time. Highly recommended as a snack with wine.
