Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 500 g rice
  • 1 kg minced meat
  • 6 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 packs of gravy, dark
  • 1 vegetable stock cube or chicken stock
  • 2 small cans of mixed vegetables
  • 1 can of corn
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 6 tbsp soy sauce
  • possibly chili powder

Vegetable rice for a quick snack for many people (was always a popular meal in shared flats)

First, fry the minced meat in a pan and season it (with salt, pepper, paprika, etc., to your liking). Cook the rice (1 part rice, 2 parts water). Dice the onions and sauté them in a (large) pot until translucent. Prepare 250 ml of stock, mix the gravy with 500 ml of hot water (you can also do this together, so that you get 750 ml of water, gravy, and stock). Then mix everything together, stir in the mixed vegetables and corn, mix everything well, and season with soy sauce, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (chili also works well). It’s best to let it simmer in the pot for 20 minutes before eating.
