Cheese tart with onions

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g flour
  • 100 g butter, ice cold
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 70 ml water, approx.
  • 200 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 200 g cheese, Emmental or Gruyère, grated
  • 100 g onion(s), cut into fine strips
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

not as difficult as traditional recipes

For the dough, rub together flour, butter, and salt until crumbly. Add water and mix to form a smooth dough, but do not knead. Cover and chill for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until about 3 mm thick. Line a baking sheet lined with baking paper with the dough and prick the base with a fork. For the topping, combine the milk and flour, bring to a boil while stirring, simmer for 5 minutes, and let cool slightly. Mix in the cheese, yogurt, and onions, and season. Spread the mixture over the dough base. Bake in the lower third of an oven preheated to 200°C for 45 minutes. Alternatively, you can use ready-made cake or puff pastry. Serve with a green salad.
